Leaving Melbourne

After 3 months of preparation we were finally ready and pushing our mountain of luggage through Melbourne airport to the departure gate. It was a strange feeling knowing that everything we owned was in those suitcases and we were of no fixed address.

We were all very excited and could not wait to start our newest adventure. One of the upsides of having a husband and father who travels the world is that he has enough frequent flyer points to upgrade us to business class for the flight. Ralph made himself immediatley at home and we think that he has now decided that he will never fly economy ever again. 9 hours of movies and food on demand was a dream come true for the both of them.

The flight was long but fun and we arrived in Hong Kong at around 6pm uesday night 3rd August. It was still light so the kids could see everything as we travelled in a taxi from the airport to our hotel. Once there, it was necessary to test the beds by bouncing on them and rifling through the mini bar.
